Tomorrow begins October, the eighth month of the Roman Calendar. The Romans had no special association for October beyond Autumn, but we have Halloween, so I think for this month on the Sea of Stars Design Journal we shall do Monsters as our theme.
If there are any kinds of monsters you would like to see, let me know (here or in the forums) and I will see what I can do. But I can promise some new undead and a template or two. Expect something dangerous to appear this Friday . . .

I have a confession to make, I dislike the iconic D&D spell magic missile. No, dislike is too mild, I hate that spell, the autohit, the ‘force damage ignores all defenses’, the fact that it is the default (and bland) choice for arcane casters. For my campaign, I have gone so far as to ban it entirely.
But I do have a replacement:

The fey know of their vulnerability to cold iron, luckily their magic can overcome that . . . to some extent.
The faerie knight saw us draw our swords, he made a gesture of warding and then saluted us with his bronze weapon. As we fought, our weapons did not bite as often as they should have as if some force was turning them away.
