Tuesday Magic Item – Teacher’s Hat

“How long has it been since you were last in a school room?” asked Voddick looking around.

“As a student?  Longer than I care to remember, my friend,” answered Gollaon in a voice tinged with nostalgia.

“Perhaps we should retire and teach a new generation . . . someday.”

“Yes, someday.  But not today and probably not soon.”

“Sadly truth.”

Teacher’s Hat

These hats come in a variety of styles but are always suited to an educator (teacher, tutor, usw) in the culture and are always made of excellent materials, occasionally even luxurious ones.

New Magic Item – Equinox Amulet

“We have never asked to be witnesses to a duel of magics before, I am not sure what is expected,” said Voddick quietly pausing the adjustment of the protective gear.

“I think we are primarily here in case something goes very, very wrong we are to keep crazed wizards or summoned demons from escaping the circle of combat,” replied Voddick, having just strung a longbow in preparation.

“That we can do.” Voddick slipped an axe into his belt loop.

“We have done such tasks before after all.”

Equinox Amulet

These amulets are made of a precise balance of black and white materials, evenly (and visibly evenly) divided.  They always seem at a perfectly neutral temperature, never hot nor cold.

Tuesday Magic Item – Ring of Coins

“That is a useful way to carry one’s money,”said Gollaon watching the coins appear below the buyer’s ring and fall into the merchant’s waiting hands.

“Yes and harder to steal than a pouch,”noted Voddick. “And even if you could, the coins can only be returned by their owner.”

“Wise precaution,” mused Gollaon.

Ring of Coins

These rings are made of woven bands of copper, silver and gold, its size waxes and wanes as it power is used, ranging from wide wires to a heavy ring that covers the finger from the knuckle to first joint.

Where to Find Me at GenCon 2021

Should you wish to, first review my advice to those going, then look below:

I will be working  in the exhibitor’s hall for Alderac Entertainment Group (AEG) as usual, and we should have banners up, but you can find us at Booth 903.  Right now my schedule looks something like this:

Thursday, working in the booth 11am-5pm.

Friday, working in the booth 11am-5pm.  And from 6:30pm – latish, you will find me in the JW Mariott helping with AEG’s Big Game Night (BGN).  I will be busy but if you want to come and learn one of the recent AEG games, drop by after 9pm and you can join in and play (though not get any swag unless you already have a ticket).  As it winds down, I will have more free time, though you may have to talk with me as I check and pack away demo games.  In any case, feel free to drop by.

Saturday, working in the booth 11am-5pm.

Sunday, last day, working in the booth 11am-2pm. 3:30pm on.

Spotting me in a crowd!  On duty I will be wearing an AEG t-shirt and mask.  My hair (pulled back in a pony tail) and beard are mostly white, and I am an average height slightly overweight white man, so, yeah, I will not be that easy to spot.  However, I intend to be wearing these lovely masks made for me by my wife when not of duty during the Con. Beyond that, who knows?  But I arrive late Tuesday to help with setup on Wens.  So drop me a note if you want to try and meet up, I am sure we can work something out.

Tuesday Magic Item – Mind Robbing Blade

Voddick adjusted his grip on the throwing axe.  “What is this person seeking, randomly stabbing people and then fleeing.”

“It is not random,” said Gollaon while running their fingertips along the hilts of the throwing daggers hanging from their belt.

“How do you mean?”

“They are following a chain from what to what, I am not sure,” said Gollaon.  “But each of the victims knows each other, sometimes in a tangential fashion.  But the knife-person is seeking something . . . or someone.”

“Perhaps we can ask them . . .”

Mind Robbing Blade

This dagger is made of fine steel, the blacked hilt is decorated with twisting faces that change from time to time.  Even just holding the dagger, one hears distant whispers, but nothing that can be clearly distinguished.

Superheroes – Once upon a Time in 1968 – Issue 9 – Rat Trap
