The mixing of the blood and dragons and mortals is not uncommon on the Sea of Stars. Among some, the blood expresses itself:
Dragon Descendant
The blood of dragons is strong and even distant descendants of the mighty dragons sometime inherit part of their strength. Some dragons gather such distant relations to serve them. Other with draconic blood make their own way with their enhanced strength and abilities.
Dragon descended creatures are highly prized as guardians and fighting beasts.

As All Hallows Eve is right around the corner (so to speak), today’s magic item is something terrible and frightening. A weapon forged in pain and despair:
Soulshard Weapon
These, often crudely made, weapons are set with a gem that almost seems to pulse. The gemstone is ever in flux, it pattern changing from moment to moment, for it contains a tortured soul and it is the torment of the soul that powers the weapons.

The RPG Blog Carnival for October 2009 is Morality: In-Game and Real Life. I have taken the easy way out, discussing playing evil characters.
First, my (simple) definition of evil: To desire the ends is to desire the means.
In other words, evil is a willingness to do whatever is needed to achieve your goals. Remembering the maxim that everyone is the hero in their own story, evil character may have noble goals but the costs they are willing to pay will make them be viewed by most as anything but a hero.
