At the beginning of every season, the wealthier parents would make the children to the temple of Hebe and receive the blessing and protection of the goddess of youth.  The were instructed and taught the proper rituals to seek Hebe’s favor and the proper sacrifices to be made.

Lesser known were the visits, often under cover of twilight, of wealthy matrons to the temple to buy a night of temporary youth from the patron goddess of such in exchange for appropriate sacrifices.

Hebe’s Cup

These small and delicate cups are usually made from bronze occasional set with a few semi-precious (but hard) gems and the bowl itself being gilded.  They are usually decorated in simple geometric patterns.
