Tuesday Magic Item – Pike of Uprisings

Throughout the night, the wagons rolled on muffled wheels bringing its cargo of weaponry to the oppressed people.  For too long, they had suffered under the harsh policies and ill-treatment of their so-called “betters”.  In the morning, their sympathizers would seize the gates to the city while servants in the keep opens the doors to the rebels.  By the end of the day, the people would be in charge and the streets would run red with the blood of the oppressors.

If everything went according to plan . . .

Pike of Uprisings

These weapons are just as often long spears as pikes with heavy iron spear heads set on a reinforced pole of dark wood, where often darker stains on the wood can be notice by those looking for them.

They are +1 weapons and when fighting aside four or more people also using Pikes of Uprisings, all receive a +1 moral bonus to attack and saves against fear.  When an ally carrying a Pike of Uprising is killed within 10′ of the wielder of another Pike, they gain a +2 moral bonus to attack and damage and a +4 moral bonus against mind affecting effects when attacking the being that killed their ally within the next minute.  The wounds from these weapons tend to scar and the lethal blows are usually mutilating.

However, while owning a Pike of Uprising, the owner is less willing to give the benefit of the doubt to anyone of greater except when urging violence and conflict.  For the owner, violent resolution to social problems will become more and more attractive.  (Usually, storing the Pikes in an armory, dispersing ownership among the community, will equally disperse this effect but some people get unhealthily attached to their weapon.)
