Tuesday Magic Item – Box of Servants

5 July, 2011
Box of Servants

Box of Servants

I used to wonder how those hermit-like wizards kept their isolated towers habitable.  But then I found that such matters were solved by the wonderful Box of Servants made by Lordivan Lucricius, Esquire and Wizard.  Since then, I have travelled near and far, selling these wonderful devices to any who have the gold to purchase them.

Oh, you would like to see one?   They come in a variety of pleasing designs and solve many a household chore.

 Box of Servants

These boxes range from the simple to the ornate but they are always decorated with icons or character representing simple household tasks, such as dusting, folding clothes or sweeping.

The box is activated by opening and closing the box then selecting a task for the servant by touching an icon.  For the next hour, an unseen servant will perform the task selected as long as it can and the tasks do not take the servant more than 35′ from the box.

Improved versions that present an illusion of a physical servant performing the task, which some find less disconcerting.
