New Spell – Blood Weapon (revised)

After a few dark words, the priest touched his symbol to the weapon and it began to glow with a pulsing red light.  When I next attacked with it, it almost seemed to leap of its own accord to strike my enemies.

DESCRIPTION

Blood weapon gives a weapon a +2 enhancement bonus on damage rolls and a +2 profane bonus when rolling to confirm critical hits with the weapon.  Additionally, it gains the following bonus based in the type of damage it inflicts:

•    Bludgeoning, increase critical multiplier by 1.
•    Piercing or Slashing, inflicts 1 point of bleed damage in addition to normal weapon damage.

This spell only effects weapons wielded by an intelligent beings, a monk’s unarmed strike, or the hands of anyone with the improve unarmed strike, is considered a weapon and thus can be enhanced by this spell as can a single natural attack of a sentient being.  This is because only a sentient being can have the intention to inflict evil while an animal cannot.

While the spell is in effect the weapon is surrounded by a faint, pulsing red aura.

Special: If the blood weapon is in the area of the caster’s channel energy effect, it gains a +1 profane bonus to damage the following round.

Mass blood weapon works like blood weapon, except that it affects multiple creatures.

Notes: Obviously, only paladin serving an evil power would use this spell.

I had an earlier version of this spell (you can see it here, but it is not as good) which I was never satisfied with, then I realized that it needed just a little extra punch which was the extra bonus by weapon type.
