Tuesday Magic Item – Ancestor’s Blessing

A gift to the spirit worldGollaon watched as Voddick lit a candle and a stick of incense at the small shrine to the ancestors.

“It is good to have someone to watch over you,” said Gollaon.

“They have been helpful in the past,” said Voddick.

Ancestor’s Blessing

This is not a physical item but rather a spiritual one.  One entreats the ancestors for aid, making an offering as well, and, hopefully, they give it.

Goblins in the Sea of Stars, as one would expect, are different.

You turn to see something duck behind a rock, a moment later it is leering at you from around a tree.  Glittering yellow eyes slit like a cat’s under a wild green and orange hair peer out from a face like a squashed child.  It laughs evilly as you realize your shoes have sunk into the ankles in a pile of dung that was concealed by loose grass and straw.  You look back and the creature has vanished.

New Spell – Spirit Harvest, Lesser

The necrourgist moved among the recent dead, chanting and flashing a crystal on a silver chain.  The bodies of the freshly slain occasionally twitched as the chant hit a high point.  At the conclusion of the chant, he held the crystal high and wisps of twisting spritstuff were pulled from the bodies into the crystal.

As challenged, a different type of goblin:

Mirror, mirror polished bright
Mirror, mirror warding light
Mirror, mirror night and day
Goblin, goblin keep away

-Traditional Visse Cleaning Rhyme

Peering in at the window is a small twisted, perhaps once human face, with a shock of untidy blue hair and wild green eyes, slitted like those of a cat.  It laughs maniacally displaying yellowed needle-like teeth and is gone.  A moment later, the door swings open, though there is no one there.  You hear a footstep behind you, spinning to look, you see nothing.
