The road leading up to, or away from depending on your perspective, the far side of Fort Ajzure, that is the side away from the Port Imperial has gained the name of the Penitant’s Road. It is a beautiful road made of stone for about five miles and then peters out into a simple trail as other road-building projects having taken priority over expanding it.
It is down this path that those exiled from Port Imperial are sent, branded on the side of the neck and on their primary hand. To return without an Imperial pardon is a sentence of death if caught by Imperial forces.
