Tuesday Magic Item – Star Cat Ring
19 October, 2021Gollaon leaned against the wall and watched as the young student engaged in deep debate with . . . a star cat? So they had said the being was called.
“Can you follow what they are saying?” whispered Voddick. “I understand some of the words but the concepts are beyond me.”
“It is a deep philisopical debate on the nature of how do we understand the world around us,” replied Gollaon. “I can make out that much but only that much.”
“It does not seem our skills as bodygurd will be needed, however,” added Voddick.
“Just as well, that cat seems dangerous for a philosopher.”
Star Cat Ring
These rings are made of precious metals and set with a stone that envokes the stars, rarely there is a cat motif involved but the interior is always inscribed with magc sigils.
The ring gives the wearer low light vision and the ability to summon an unseen servant at will, though if not directed to perform a task and left idle, the unseen servant will start to move things around and occasionally knock things off surfaces.
Once a day, the wear may gain the benefits of a jump spell.
Lastly, and most impressively, the wearer may summon a Star Cat. This takes a brief ritual, lasting a minute, and the Star Cat is not at the wearers command but is willing to listen to the wearer and make an arrangement. The Star Cat can only stay in our realm for 2d4 [+ wearer’s Charisma Modifier] hours. The Star Cat can only be summoned once in any lunar month.

First paragraph as above.
The ring gives the wearer darkvision and the ability to summon an unseen servant at will, though if not directed to perform a task and left idle, the unseen servant will start to move things around and occasionally knock things off surfaces.
The wearer may gain the benefits of a jump spell, once they have done so they may not do so again until they have had a long rest.
Notes: Just a strange idea for an item that came to me.
