Tuesday Magic Item – Gran Sugarfoot’s Comforting Tea Set

10 August, 2021

TeaSetVoddick inhaled the aroma of the brewing tea.  “I am not normally much of a tea drinker, but today, it seems just right.”

Gollaon nodded.  “It is like being at home as a child.  I can almost see my mother.”

“Honey and cream?” asked Gran Sugarfoot.  “You two spend so much time out and about.  You need your moments of comfort.”

“Just honey,” said Voddick.

“Both please and thank you again for your kindness,” said Gollaon.

“It is nothing to worry about,” said Gran Sugarfoot with a smile as she poured tea into cups.

Gran Sugarfoot’s Comforting Tea Set

These tea sets, tea pot, strainer, six cups and saucers, are hand made and seem a bit fragile but somehow they never seem to break, maybe the occasional chip but that just adds character, right?

The set make preparing tea simple and second nature for anyone using it, if a check is required the set’s owner gains a +5 competence bonus.

Starting the day with a good cup of tea made with the set gives the drinker a +4 resistance bonus to the first save against any effect that would cause fear or fatigue (if it happens within four hours of having the cup of tea).

When one is resting and has time for a nice cuppa, the person gets a bonus save to shake off any lingering mental effects (confusion, fear, and such like).

When combined with a nice meal, it is quite a pick me up, those who have a cup of tea (up to six people) heal 1d4 + the higher of the drinker Constitution bonus or the owners Charisma bonus of hit points and gains a +2 resistance bonus to any save against disease of poison that would happen during that time.

As noted above, it is very hard to damage the set and it requires considerable effort or powerful magic to do so.

First paragraph as above.

The set make preparing tea simple and second nature for anyone using it, if a roll is required for such the set’s owner gains advantage on it.

Starting the day with a good cup of tea made with the set gives the drinker advantage on the first saving throw against any effect that would cause fear or fatigue (if it happens within four hours of having the cup of tea).

When one is resting and has time for a nice cuppa, the person gets a bonus save to shake off any lingering mental effects (confusion, fear, and such like).

When combined with a nice meal and a short rest, it is quite a pick me up, those who have a cup of tea (up to six people) heal 1d4 + the higher of the drinker Constitution bonus or the owners Charisma bonus of hit points and gains advantage on any saving throw against disease of poison that would happen during that time.

As noted above, it is very hard to damage the set and it requires considerable effort or powerful magic to do so.

Notes: More items from the famous Sugarfoot Clan.  Gran Sugarfoot’s knowledge of cooking and gossip is nearly unrivaled but your had best keep on her good side.
