Tuesday Magic Item – Wallbreaker Maul

Knock knockVoddick refilled his mug of ale and sat back down beside Gollaon.  Voddick leaned over and asked, “Is he done boasting yet?”

Gollaon shook his head slightly.  “But it is only getting better.  He really has a high opinion of himself.”

“I had noticed,” grinned Voddick.

“He has moved on to what he is going to do tomorrow.”

“Is he going to win the battle single-handedly for us?”

“According to him, yes.”

Wallbreaker Maul

These long clubs are heavily constructed of stout wood with a heavy core and bound with copper, often decorated with storm and lightning iconography.  When swung, they occasionally crackle with electricity.

It is a +2 maul that inflicts an additional 1d4 electrical damage if the attack roll is even or 1d4 sonic damage if the attack roll is odd.

Once a day, when the wielder makes a single attack, if it hits it does an additional 5d10 sonic damage to the target, and to their shield, ignoring hardness, and is knocked back 10′, Reflex save (DC 17) or they are knocked prone as well.  All enemies within 15′, and their shields, also take the same amount of sonic damage and are knocked 5′ away from the wielder, Reflex save (DC 17) for half damage and no movement.

If this attack is made against a structure rather than a being, the damage is increased to 6d10 and it affects all structures within 15′ of the strike.

If this attack is made against a structure rather than a being, the damage is increased to 6d10 and it affects all structures within 15′ of the strike.

Notes: “Shieldwallbreaker” is a bit long, but that is what this is designed for, though it will do some damage to an actual wall as well.
