Tuesday Magic Item – Sack of Snacks

31 July, 2018

Spiced nuts for all!

“Do we have any of those candied nuts left?” asked Voddick.

“We can,” answered Gollaon.  “But we will have to open the sack.”

“Best to wait then,” sighed Voddick.  “What about the rhubarb?”

“Yes, we have some of that.”

Voddick took the bag.  “I will have to be careful.  Guarding these merchants will cause me to run to fat.”

Sack of Snacks

These bags are made of well made but rarely fancy cloth, often embroidered with the mark or shield of a merchant house or guild.  They always feel full of something, even when they are not.

Five times a day, it will fill with two pounds of a simple, but tasty, snack of the owner’s choice.  Additionally, once a day, it will fill with 1d4+1 handfuls of the owner’s perfect snack, eating a handful of which counts as a full meal and gives the consumer 1d4+1 temporary hit points and a +1 morale bonus to saves against fear and poison for the next thirty minutes.

Magic item statblock to follow as I have time.

For D&D 5E:

Wondrous item (bag), uncommon (requires attunement)

First paragraph as above.

Five times a day, it will fill with two pounds of a simple, but tasty, snack of the owner’s choice.  Additionally, once a day, it will fill with 1d4+1 handfuls of the owner’s perfect snack, eating a handful of which counts as a full meal and gives the consumer 1d4+1 temporary hit points for the next thirty minutes, the first saving throw the consumer needs to make during that time against fear or poison will be made with advantage.

Notes: For my magic item just before GenCon, it has become a bit of a tradition to do magic items that would be useful at a convention and this is continuing in that style.
