New Magic Item – “Dogs of War” Potion (for Pathfinder and D&D5)4 October, 2016

Voddick sighed. “No doubt many a mother would agree. Still it seems cruel . . . both to the beasties and our enemy.”
“Perhaps they will not fight and all these preparations will be in vain.”

“Dogs of War” Potion
More a stew than a traditional potion, choice organ meats are stewed with alchemical mixtures to produce a thick, and occasionally chunky, brew that is usable for up to a week after it has been made.
The consumer of the potion gains a +2 alchemical bonus to Constitution for 5d6+10 minutes and if they take more than 3 hit points of damage during that time, they enter into a rage gaining a +2 morale bonus to Strength and Constitution, a +1 morale bonus on Will saves, and a -2 penalty to AC for 2d4 minutes. While in this rage, the subject cannot use any Charisma-, Dexterity-, or Intelligence-based skills (except Acrobatics, Fly, Intimidate, and Ride) or any ability that requires patience or concentration. At the end of the rage, the potion’s effects are dispelled and the consumer takes two points of Constitution damage.
This potion is designed to be used by animals, anyone with greater intelligence who drinks it takes 1d3 points of Intelligence damage (Fortitude save, DC 18, for half damage -round up-) as bestial impulses overwhelm their reason.

- When you make a melee weapon attack using Strength, you gain +2 to the damage roll
- You have resistance to bludgeoning, piercing, and slashing damage.
This rage lasts 2d4 minutes. If you are able to cast spells, you cannot cast them or concentrate on them while raging. At the end of the rage, the potion’s effects are dispelled and the consumer loses two points of Constitution until they can take a long rest.
This potion is designed to be used by animals, anyone with greater intelligence who drinks it loses 1d3 points of Intelligence (Constitution save, DC 15, to half loss -round up-) until they can take a long rest as bestial impulses overwhelm their reason.
