Tuesday Magic Item – Sunrunner Sandals

24 May, 2016

Stylish and magical tooVoddick watched the young man run from spire to spire, his feet gripping the air as though it were solid.  “Ah, to be young and foolish again.”

“It certainly beats being old and foolish,” grinned Gollaon.

“Ain’t that the truth,” agreed Voddick.  “Now I need a drink.”

“Now that is a foolishness I am happy to share in.”

Sunrunner Sandals

These sandals are made of fine pale leather, sometimes dyed white, gold or blue with fittings polished to a golden sheen.  Dirt and muck slide off the sandals within moments of them being stained.

The sandals allow the wearer to walk on air as though it was solid ground with moving upward being much like walking up a hill,  the maximum upward or downward angle possible is 45 degrees, at a rate equal to half the air walker’s normal speed.  But only in direct sunlight, cloudy skies  or more make the air ‘difficult terrain’ during the day, they do not function at all at night or during an eclipse.

The wearer gains a +3 sacred bonus to saves against heat and fire and is treated as though under the protection of endure elements while in direct sunlight.

Aura moderate transmutation; CL 7th
Slot feet; Price 15,000; Weight 1 lb
Construction Requirements
Craft Wondrous Item, air walk, endure elements; Cost 7,500

For D&D5:

Wondrous item, rare (requires attunement)

As above but the wearer gains advantage to saves against heat and fire and they are protected from normal temperature extremes while in direct sunlight.

Notes: Just an idea that came to me that seemed fun.
