New Monster – Lunar Crow (A to Z Challenge L)

Watching for his MistressHambbon could not shake the feeling that they crows were plotting something against him as he explored the ruined temple.  Every time  he turned around, one was watching him with those black eyes.

But the ancient temples to the moon goddess had not been looted, at least, he did not think so.

When he hit the tripwire and tumbled into the pit, he was certain they were laughing at him.

These magical creatures were created as servants of the moon as used as her messengers, in direct moonlight their sooty black plumage turns into a beautiful silver-white.  Since the moon’s exile, they have become more feral and vicious, action on the mad schemes of their mistress.

Lunar crows often serve as familiars to those who are moon cultists or may be useful to the moon’s cause.

SQ familiar, lunar empowerment

Blinding Critical (Ex) The lunar crow strikes precisely with its beak seeking their target’s eyes. On a critical hit the target must make a DC 11 Fortitude save or be blinded for 1d4 rounds, on a successful save the target is only dazzled for one round.  This save is Wisdom based.

Familiar (Su) The master of a lunar crow familiar gains the lunar empowerment ability and gains a +1 bonus to the DC of any spell they cast with moon in the spell’s title.

Lunar Empowerment (Ex) Under direct moonlight, the lunar crow turns a silver-white and gains a +2 enhancement bonus to Strength, +1 enhancement bonus to Natural Armor and the ability to use Blur as a free action for up to five minutes a night (in one minute blocks).  The lunar crow also gains a +4 bonus to visual Perception checks in moonlight.

Organization solitary, pair, or murder (3–12)
Treasure incidental

Wild lunar crows usually have at least one member of their murder who has a level in rouge.

Notes: The moon is the only goddess that survived the War with the Dragon alive and uncaptured.
