New Feats – Simple Yet Deadly and Simple Killing

18 March, 2011

Agilon of the Club was a simple man, wielding a simple weapon yet few could stand before his club.  He faced down swordsmen, axe fighters and lancers with nothing more then his trusty length of wood.

Simple Yet Deadly (Combat)

You have mastered the potential of a basic weapon and turned it into a better tool for killing.

Prerequisites: Weapon Focus in a simple weapon.

Benefit: The damage for the simple weapon increases by one step on the following list, as if the weapon’s size had increased by one category. Damage dice increase as follows: 1d2, 1d3, 1d4, 1d6, 1d8, 2d6, and so on.

Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of weapon.

Simple Killing (Combat)

In your hands, a simple weapon becomes a tool of unprecedented death and destruction.

Prerequisites: Simple Yet Deadly.

Benefit: The critical multiplier  for the simple weapon increases by one.

Special: You can gain this feat multiple times. Its effects do not stack. Each time you take the feat, it applies to a new type of weapon.

Notes: Just pondering ways to make simple weapons more dangerous and give characters more options.  As Harbinger of Doom suggests below, they can be rolled into one feat with little fear of it being overpowered.
