Tuesday Magic Item – Hunter’s Cloak

17 August, 2010

Suddenly the wood was alive with hunters aiming all sorts of weapons at us.  We had totally failed to spot them before they revealed themselves.  We slowly put down our weapons. Defeated by hunters, how embarrassing.

Hunter’s Cloak

These cloaks are made of heavy cloth of a neutral color, the clasp is usually made of bronze and usually in some sort of hunting motif.  First made by the elves, these cloaks have been widely copied since.

The Hunter’s Cloak is good at allowing its wearer to blend in, providing a +3 enhancement bonus to Stealth checks.  Additionally, it will keep its wearer dry under most weather conditions, even a driving rain will only dampen it.  The cloak will mildly adjust the wearer’s temperature towards their optimum and it provides a minimum of protection if the wearer has no other armor (+1 armor bonus).  Lastly, the cloak is difficult to damage, virtually immune to normal wear and tear (it saves at +4 against any form of damage).
