New Magic Item – Pollen Puffball

19 April, 2010

The woodsman collapsed, hacking and coughing.  “Stay away from the oaks, man!” cried the voice from the forest.  “Or you will not survive the next one.”  Dragging his axe and wheezing the woodsman withdrew from the stand of trees, vowing never to return.

Pollen Puffball

These items are used by the armies of the Court of Spring to harass and drive away those that infringe upon the lands of the Court.  They appear as brightly colored, often spotted, balls that are surprisingly light.  They may be thrown or used as sling ammunition.

New Spell – The Wrathful Glare of the Sun

16 April, 2010

The priestess stood atop the highest tower barely visible in the lightening sky, chanting prayers to the Lady Sun.  As the first rays of the dawn’s light touched her outstretched hand they turned into a blazing spear of white hot light that burned through the arm of the catapult and igniting the ropes used in its construction.  The black smoke from the burning siege engine signaled the end of the siege as the invaders soon withdrew, looking fearfully back at the tower as long as it remained in sight.

Tuesday Magic Item – The Harvest Moon Bow

13 April, 2010

The archer never gave his name, he arrived at the height of the snow ghost attacks and he left as soon as the spring grasses began to green.  The villagers remembered his beautiful bow more than his face.   It was also remarked how the fields of the three households that had shown him hospitality when he first arrived were blessed with a bountiful harvest that fall.

Harvest Moon Bow

This weapon is deceptively simple, a self bow made of moon white wood with a pale silver grain.  When the bow in strung, the bowstring transforms into solid moonlight, pure and unbreakable until cut or unstrung.

Aspect of Spring (Template)

12 April, 2010

In ages past, when the World and the Otherworld were more closely intertwined, the Seasonal Courts all had their chosen in the mortal world, the gifted, the blessed, and, occasionally, the cursed.  After the Sundering, travel between the realms became difficult and most of these Courts lost contact with their agents who were lost to them.

Now those rare people chosen as agents of the Seasonal Courts are given their strength, not out of compassion but out of need, as they cannot afford to lose any of their few agents in the moral world.
