Tuesday Magic Item – Spring Shelter

20 April, 2010

The two simple staves and the rough green of the cloth never seemed like much, but on our travels we were never frozen out or drowned by rains or needed fear the noonday sun.  The gift of the Court of Spring kept us safe on our travels.

Spring  Shelter

This item is deceptively simple, a pair of oak staves, a bundle of waxed woolen cloth and some very strong cord.  This item only works as a set and its magic is apparent after a shelter is made from the items.

Once a shelter is completed from the items, the shelter and everything within five feet of it are protected by the nature of Spring for up to twelve hours a day.  Within the area, the temperature never drops to below freezing or above a warm spring day, winds are never more than breeze and rain fall is always light.  So if you put up the Spring Shelter in a raging blizzard, for the next twelve hours, you are in a chilly area with a light wind and rain blowing on you while in the desert at noon, you would be in a warm spring day.
