Literacy supports mail systems and by the Middle Ages in Europe, literacy had again become widespread enough to make communication by letter feasible.  With letters came people to carry them, this in turn let to organizations and systems to carry letters and packages.  Over time, these systems evolved into our modern postal systems and package delivery companies.

New Spell – The Wrathful Glare of the Sun

The priestess stood atop the highest tower barely visible in the lightening sky, chanting prayers to the Lady Sun.  As the first rays of the dawn’s light touched her outstretched hand they turned into a blazing spear of white hot light that burned through the arm of the catapult and igniting the ropes used in its construction.  The black smoke from the burning siege engine signaled the end of the siege as the invaders soon withdrew, looking fearfully back at the tower as long as it remained in sight.
