Personal Master at Arms
These boxes are large enough to carry ones arming doublet but little more and are usually decorated with martial scenes or heraldic devices. They are sturdy often quite battered.
Up to twice a day, the box when placed on the ground will create an image of a master of arms who will run the activator, or a named person in sight of the box, through their martial paces for up to half an hour. This will keep someone up on their skills and allow a learner to advance to a basic competency given time. After this training, the next attack they make -before they next sleep- with a weapon they used in the training gains a +1 competence bonus.
Some versions of these items use famous masters of arms as their source for the master’s image. It is considered an honor by some, an advertisement by others. Some of these are considered more valuable and command a premium on the open market.
