New Magic Item – Spy’s Candle
January 28, 2011
Vordorik’s fist slammed down on table, rattling the candelabras illuminating the maps marked with colored blocks representing the positions of various units. “How are they always one step ahead of us, Cov, how?”
“We have been hunting their scouts, sir. Perhaps it is simple luck?”
“That I cannot believe. Keep looking, Cov. The solution must be out there.”
Spy’s Candle
These come in all shapes and sizes, just like any other candles. They are always made in pairs however.
One is a listener and the other a voice: when the listener candle is lit, the voice echoes everything that the listener “hears”. The voice works as long as the listener is with 5 miles (8 km). Most of the candles last for one hour.
Out of necessity, the magic of the candles is concealed, requiring a caster level check against a DC of 22 to notice that the candle is magic
