Tuesday Magic Item – Winter Saddle
January 11, 2011
It was said the Lady Bethony had no fear of traveling to any part of her holding at any time of the year. Her servants feared her flying visits but the common folk loved to see her riding through their villages giving greeting and good grace at all times.
Winter Saddle
These finely made saddles are made of layered leather and felt, often furs as well, with buckles decorated with protective runes. They range from the eminently practical made for military use to the exceedingly ornate ones created for courtiers and nobles.
The magic of the Winter Saddle is simple, it keeps both rider and mount safe from the extremes of cold temperature as well as keeping them dry from rain, sleet and snow. Additionally, the covering from the saddle provide the rider with a +1 armor bonus while they are using them.
