Tuesday Magic Item – Courtly Fan of the Wizardess

Courtly Fan of the Wizardess
This highly decorated fan is made from rare woods, the finest paper and reinforced with silver chased steel. On one side is a painted phoenix, while a peacock graces the other side. The fan provides the holder with a +1 circumstance bonus to Diplomacy checks in courtly setting.
Three magical effects are bound within (all spell trigger effects, requiring a standard action that does not provoke an attack of opportunity):
- Burning Hands, from the Phoenix Side, once per day at 5th level (5d4 damage, Reflex save DC 15 for half).
- Color Spray, from the Peacock Side, once per day at 1st level (Will save DC 15 to negate).
- Magic Missile, from snapping the fan open or closed, once per day at 9th level (five missiles).
Strong evocation; CL 9th; Create Wondrous Items, burning hands, color spray, magic missile; Price: 5,500 (2,750 +220 xp).
Since it would not be polite for a wizard to carry wands or other magical armaments in court, this simple -yet flexible- item is of great use to a wizard serving in a diplomatic or courtly setting.
